Event Policy

Effective date: Monday 10th August 2026

Organised by Michelle Wright, trading as MWCanHelp

This Event Policy applies to events hosted, organised or facilitated by MWCanHelp, including educational events, workshops, networking events, community gatherings and collaborative events with guest speakers, service providers or other contributors.

By registering for or attending an MWCanHelp event, you agree to comply with this Event Policy.

About MWCanHelp Events

MWCanHelp provides educational events as part of its wider business support offering for aspiring and early-stage business owners.

The Business Plan identifies a free Business Foundations event series, running twice every Saturday, from 10am to 12pm and 4pm to 6pm UK time. Events may also include workshops, networking sessions, community activities and collaborative sessions with other professionals.

Events may be free or paid, delivered online or in person, and may be hosted independently or with third-party contributors.

The terms applying to a particular event may include additional information provided on the relevant registration or booking page.

Events and One-to-One Support

Information, discussions and guidance provided through MWCanHelp events are intended as general business information and guidance. They are not intended to replace personalised professional, legal, financial, tax or other regulated advice.

One-to-one consultancy and coaching are separate services. These services provide tailored guidance based on the information, circumstances and goals shared by the individual business owner. They remain advisory services, and the business owner remains responsible for their own decisions and actions.

No particular business outcome, financial result or level of growth is guaranteed through attendance at an event or participation in any MWCanHelp service.

Behaviour and Conduct

MWCanHelp aims to provide a respectful, professional and constructive environment.

All participants are expected to:

  • Treat other participants, speakers, contributors and hosts respectfully.

  • Avoid abusive, threatening, discriminatory, aggressive or disruptive behaviour.

  • Avoid interrupting or deliberately dismissing others.

  • Follow reasonable instructions given by the event host.

  • Respect the boundaries and privacy of other participants.

  • Avoid using events or community spaces for inappropriate or unlawful activity.

MWCanHelp may remove a participant from an event where their behaviour is inappropriate or disruptive.

Where appropriate, access to future MWCanHelp events or community activities may also be restricted.

No refund or credit will be provided where removal results from a participant’s breach of this policy, subject to any rights that cannot legally be excluded.

Use of MWCanHelp Events and Community

MWCanHelp provides opportunities for business owners to learn, connect and discover business resources and opportunities.

Participants must not use MWCanHelp events, community spaces or other MWCanHelp platforms to:

  • Commit or facilitate fraud.

  • Mislead or deceive other participants.

  • Make false or misleading claims about a business, service, product or opportunity.

  • Solicit money through dishonest or inappropriate means.

  • Collect personal information for unlawful or unauthorised purposes.

  • Promote unlawful activities.

  • Harass, intimidate or exploit other participants.

  • Misuse information obtained through an MWCanHelp event or community.

MWCanHelp may remove content, restrict participation or refuse future access where there are reasonable concerns about fraudulent, misleading, unlawful or harmful activity.

MWCanHelp does not guarantee the identity, legitimacy, accuracy, suitability or performance of businesses, individuals, opportunities, services or offers presented by third parties through its events or community.

Participants are responsible for carrying out their own checks before entering into an agreement, making a payment, sharing personal information or relying on a recommendation from another participant.

Confidentiality and Respect

Events may involve discussion of personal, financial or business matters.

While confidentiality cannot be guaranteed in a group environment, participants are expected to respect information shared by others.

Participants must not:

  • Share another participant’s personal information without permission.

  • Reproduce or distribute another participant’s business ideas without permission.

  • Share private discussions outside the event without permission.

  • Use information shared by another participant in a way that could reasonably cause harm or disadvantage.

Participants should only share information they are comfortable discussing in a group environment.

Advisory Guidance and Responsibility

Information and guidance provided during events is given in good faith and based on the information available at the time.

Business owners are responsible for deciding whether information or recommendations are appropriate for their circumstances.

MWCanHelp does not guarantee that following information, guidance or recommendations provided at an event will result in a particular business, financial or other outcome.

Nothing in this policy excludes or limits any liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited.

Third-Party Providers, Referrals and Recommendations

MWCanHelp may introduce attendees to trusted professionals or mention third-party businesses, platforms, tools, services or other resources.

These introductions or recommendations are provided in good faith. They do not constitute a guarantee, endorsement or representation that a third party will be suitable for your circumstances or that their services will produce a particular result.

You are responsible for carrying out your own due diligence before entering into an agreement, making a payment or providing information to a third party.

Where MWCanHelp shares your personal information with another person or organisation for an introduction, this will be handled in accordance with the MWCanHelp Privacy Policy and any consent required.

MWCanHelp is not responsible for transactions, agreements, services, conduct or outcomes arising directly between participants or between a participant and an independent third party, except where liability cannot legally be excluded.

No Recording or Unauthorised Use of Content

Recording, photographing, screenshotting or otherwise capturing an MWCanHelp event is not permitted without prior permission.

This includes:

  • Audio recordings.

  • Video recordings.

  • Screen recordings.

  • Screenshots.

  • Written transcripts intended for public distribution.

  • Reproduction or redistribution of event materials without permission.

Unauthorised recording or distribution may result in removal from the event and restriction from future events.

MWCanHelp may take photographs or recordings for its own promotional purposes only where appropriate consent or another lawful basis has been established.

Joining and Punctuality

Participants should arrive or join on time.

For online events, access may close after the advertised start time or after a reasonable period to protect the experience of other participants.

If you arrive late, you may not be admitted.

For paid events, any refund or credit will be subject to the applicable cancellation and refund terms and any legal rights that apply.

Accessibility

MWCanHelp aims to provide an inclusive and accessible environment.

If you have an accessibility requirement that may affect your participation, please contact MWCanHelp before the event where possible so that reasonable arrangements can be considered.

Refunds and Cancellations

For paid events, the applicable cancellation and refund terms will be provided on the relevant booking or registration page.

Where a booking is cancelled by the attendee, any refund will be subject to the terms provided at the time of booking and any statutory consumer rights that apply.

Where MWCanHelp cancels an event, attendees will be informed and offered the appropriate option, which may include a refund, alternative date or credit, depending on the circumstances and applicable legal requirements.

Nothing in this policy is intended to remove or restrict any consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded.

Event Communications and Privacy

By registering for an event, you may receive essential communications relating to your booking or attendance, including confirmation messages, joining information, event updates and reminders.

Marketing communications about future events or services will be handled separately and, where consent is required, will only be sent where the appropriate consent has been provided.

Personal information is handled in accordance with the MWCanHelp Privacy Policy.

Collaborative Events

Some MWCanHelp events may involve guest speakers, service providers, contributors, co-hosts or other collaborators.

Where an event is delivered collaboratively, this Event Policy continues to apply unless different terms are clearly provided to participants in writing before the event.

Third-party contributors are responsible for the accuracy and appropriateness of the information they provide within their area of expertise.

Complaints Procedure

MWCanHelp aims to resolve concerns fairly and constructively.

If you have a complaint about an MWCanHelp event, including an issue concerning conduct, event administration, a speaker, contributor, accessibility or another aspect of your participation, please contact:

Michelle Wright
Email: enquiries@mwcanhelp.com

Please provide details of the issue, the event concerned and the outcome you are seeking where possible.

MWCanHelp will review the complaint, make appropriate enquiries and provide a response without undue delay.

Where a complaint concerns the processing of personal information, it will also be handled in accordance with the MWCanHelp Privacy Policy and applicable data protection requirements.

Data protection complaints will be acknowledged within 30 days, investigated appropriately and followed up with an outcome without undue delay, in accordance with applicable requirements.

If you remain dissatisfied with the handling of a data protection complaint, you may also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.

Dispute Resolution

If a dispute arises in connection with an MWCanHelp event or this Event Policy, the parties should first try to resolve the matter through the complaints procedure and direct communication.

Where appropriate, the parties may mutually agree to mediation or another form of alternative dispute resolution before starting court proceedings.

Alternative dispute resolution will not be compulsory unless required by law or separately agreed in writing.

Nothing in this section prevents either party from exercising any legal rights available to them.

Governing Law and Jurisdiction

This Event Policy is governed by the laws of England and Wales.

Subject to any mandatory rights available under applicable law, the courts of England and Wales will have jurisdiction over disputes arising from or relating to this Event Policy or an MWCanHelp event.

Severability

If any provision of this Event Policy is found to be invalid, unlawful or unenforceable, that provision will be treated as amended or removed to the extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will continue to apply.

Non-Enforcement

If MWCanHelp does not enforce a provision of this Event Policy on a particular occasion, this does not mean that MWCanHelp has waived its right to enforce that provision in the future.

Policy Updates

This Event Policy may be updated from time to time to reflect changes to MWCanHelp’s services, events, community activities, business practices or applicable legal requirements.

The latest version will include the effective date and will be available on relevant registration pages or by request.
